250 km Cycling Route in Tuscany along the Arno riverside

tuscany cyclingArno is the second largest river in central Italy after the Tiber and the main in Tuscany.

Arno has a total length of 241 km that passes trough the main territories of this region (Casentino, Val di Chiana, Arezzo, The upper Valdarno, Pratomagno, Siena province, Florence, Sesto Fiorentino, Campi Bisenzio, Prato, Pistoia, Sieve, Middle Valdarno, Lower Valdarno, Val di Pesa, Val d’Elsa, Val d’Era, Pontedera). It borns in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, at an altitude of 1358 m above sea level, and flows into the Ligurian Sea passing through Pisa.

Marc Chagall in Pisa until January, 17th 2010

chagall pisa italyIt has started in october, the exhibition Chagall e il Mediaterraneo (Chagall and the Mediterranean) at Palazzo Blu in Pisa, in the beautiful Arno riverside. 150 paintings, sculptures, ceramics and lithographs in a wonderful location recently renewed, in the historical centre of Pisa, five minutes walking from Piazza dei Miracoli.

In fourteen days, exactly on October 23, 12,000 people – a daily average of 857 – visited the halls of Palazzo Blu Pisa to admire Chagall’s works. All of these paintings were made after 1926, year of the first Chagall visit in France, Greece and Holy Land. A journey in which he discovered the light of the Mediterranean Sea, which fascinated him with the colours of its landscapes.

The White Truffle Exhibition in San Miniato

sanminiatoIt’s starting, the White Truffle Exhibition will take place in Piazza XX Settembre, in the centre of San Miniato on 14/15 – 21/22 – 28/29 november 2009.

San Miniato is situated at the crossroads of the Florence-Pisa and the Lucca-Siena roads. In this beautiful town, people started to celebrate white truffle back in 1970, considering it a real godsend. San Miniato is marvellous, it keeps signs of Etruscan and Roman era. White Truffle Exhibition is located in the San Miniato Vecchia, enclosed within a well-preserved medieval wall.
