Next weeks “Il Desco” will start in Lucca, it will exactly take place from 15 November to 14 December. This market show promotes the excellences of this special area, known worldwide for its unique oil, its bread and wine.
Lucca inhabitants really care of the table and all the related objects. Tables are a sort of combination between traditional farming houses and elegant furnishings. Poor dishes, rich in flavours, habits and traditions.
This year “Il Desco” will be in partnership with the local Slow Food Presidium, that is going to organize on Saturday afternoon, the laboratories of Taste. These are workshops where you will discover secrets and enjoy great wine tasting tours in Tuscany and Toscano cigar tastings .
Il Desco will take place in the historical center of Lucca, in a marvellous location like the Ex Real Collegio. In the hall of the main floor, this year, classical, jazz and pop concerts will take place.
Over 100 exhibitors, pottery, paper, smelling of dried flowers, olive wood engraving, along with producers of tasty sausages and the well known traditional bread made with corn flour, chestnuts and more.
The exhibition itinerary presents: oil produced in the coastal hills of Lucca and Versilia; DOC wines of Colline Lucchesi and Montecarlo; organic honey from Migliarino and S. Rossore Park, Alta Versilia, Garfagnana and Serchio Valley; Garfagnana IGP spelt; pecorino cheese from Versilia and Garfagnana – Valle del Serchio; Biroldo and Mondiola Garfagnina, ham Bazzone, lard of Camaiore, precious cold cuts.
And than the bean in its many local endemic varieties and Formenton, eight rows of corn polenta; Buccellato, the cake of Lucca, Altopascio bread, potato bread…
