Italian songwriters in Livorno with Premio Ciampi

arboreIn the name of singer/songwriter Piero Ciampi the prestigious Premio Ciampi-Town of Livorno prize comes to the fifteenth edition, from 14 to 17 November 2009 at Teatro Goldoni.

During these years Premio Ciampi has hosted new authors and discovered new trends, that are changing the history of Italian songwriting. Piero Ciampi died prematurely in 1980, leaving an indelible mark on popular music. The fifteenth edition develops around the symbolic concept of the wall. Not really to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Berlin Wall Fall, but to focus attention on the different barriers that divide us.

In memory of Piero Ciampi the inaugural evening of 14 November at the Teatro Goldoni, will be hold by Ernesto de Pascale with emerging talents (Brunori Sas, Gina, John Caruso) and musicians who have covered important milestones in the history of song writing (Patty Pravo, Mimmo Locasciulli). Then Simone Cristicchi, Marco Fabi, the Italian English Tricca Emma, and rock musicians of our local tradition as Rigo will be the protagonists of the event.

The concert will start at 20.45. On the afternoon of 14, there will be a conference entitled “Stand Out is better” in Goldonetta.  There will be a talk show with Renzo Arbore and Mimma Gaspar, the Rai journalist Paolo Pasi and Luciana Bianciardi will speak on the relationship between Luciano Bianciardi and Piero Ciampi.
