What to do in Tuscany?

According to what you like and what you don’t like, you can easily plan what to do in Tuscany even before arriving there.

If you like museums and galleries, you have to go to Florence, of course and spend at least half a day in the Uffizi museum before visiting all the other beauties of the city. This region is full of art galleries, statues (think about Michelangelo’s David) and galleries: check on the internet which one is your favorite and see if you can book the ticket on-line.

If you prefer music, there are several events in Tuscany, such as the seasonal Maggio Fiorentino, which takes place in May, and the opera season, which is of the best ones in Italy. If you have a chance, go to the Puccini Festival: it’s simply amazing.

Carnival in Tuscany

Carnival has officially stated, since the celebrations have to end 40 days before Easter, according to the Bible. As soon as it ends, in fact, it starts the so-called Lent which prepares you to get ready for the Resurrection of Jesus.

Due to the fact that Easter is on March 31st this year, the first events started last weekend, even if the main festivals, such as the Viareggio Carnival, which are well known in all the world, will continue until the end of February.
